Privacy policy

Last updated 27 October 2026

Your journal is personal, so we collect as little as we can and protect what we keep. This policy explains what the Three Lines A Day app stores, why, and the choices you have.

Your journal entries

The text of your entries is encrypted on your device before it is synced, using a key derived from your personal recovery key. Only you hold that key, so we cannot read your entries. If you lose both your recovery key and your device, your entries cannot be recovered, not even by us.

Some details are stored without that encryption so the app can work: the date of each entry, your mood rating, and timestamps. Photos you attach are stored in private storage that only your account can access, but they are not end-to-end encrypted.

What we collect

Who helps us run the app

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

On your device only

Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint checks and daily reminders happen entirely on your device. We never receive your biometric data.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Advanced → Delete account. This permanently removes your entries, photos and account. See how to delete your account for other options.

Children

Three Lines A Day is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes and contact
